Staying at the Four Points Sheraton was not new to us. A few years back, on our way to our Alaska cruise, we stayed at the Four Points Sheraton Los Angeles International Airport as a stopover to break up the long journey.
In this instance, as we would arrive at Vancouver International Airport in the wee hours of the night, we planned a stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport to rest for the night before proceeding to Vancouver city the following morning. There was little point in going straight to the city as hotel rates were higher there anyway.
Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport provides a complimentary airport shuttle for its guests, similar to the practice by other airport hotels. All we needed to do was to follow the signages at the airport to the hotel shuttle bay to wait. Easy peasy.
Fast Check-In and Cozy LobbyIt was past midnight when we reached the Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport. However, check-in was still fast and efficient. Probably even faster than usual because there was no queue.
We took the chance to take in the coziness of the lobby while waiting for room keys.
There was also a small business centre at the lobby.
And even a small well-stocked pantry for the hungry traveller at night.
Free maps for the traveller who would like to explore the region.
And the printed schedule of the complimentary airport shuttle which leaves every 30 mins.
New and Cozy RoomAs we were a Starwood Preferred Guest member, we were given our preference of a high-floor, non-smoking room on the SPG floor. Benefits for our level was quite basic with complimentary bottled water upon arrival.
It was a great relief to walk into this room, after close to 30 hrs of flight and transit time. Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport was newly renovated, and its clean and modern decor is testament to the investment made by the hotel chain.
For an airport hotel, we were very pleased with the condition and amenities in the room.
At last, a cosy bed to lay in after an ultra long journey from Singapore.
The room was stylish and very spacious which added to our comfort level.
Minimalistic and Clean-Cut BathroomFor me, the most important feature in any hotel room was the state of its bathroom. And Four Points Sheraton has never failed me in this aspect. I love this minimalistic and clean-cut bathroom. Not to mention also that everything in here was squeaky clean.
Definitely a plus point that the bathroom was so spacious. I would hate it if I had to navigate around a tight space.
Full set of bathroom amenities meant that we had no need to bring our own. However, as with most hotels, toothbrushes are not provided.
One thing I was most grateful for was black-out curtains which allowed me to sleep undisturbed by day light until my exhausted body had recovered sufficiently.
The night view outside our room before we fell into a long sleep. We were in fact, trying to assess our breakfast options across the street.
The same view by day. We loved it that we could see the distant mountains in the background.
We even spotted aeroplanes. Not surprising, since this is an airport hotel. But surprising because despite its close proximity to the airport, we hardly heard any noise and slept like a baby.
Great Location for Pre or Post Flight StayFour Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport was only a 10-minute ride from the Vancouver International Airport, and 20 minutes away from downtown Vancouver. It is a perfect place for a stopover if your flight arrives late at night. Rates here are definitely cheaper than what you would generally pay at an equivalent downtown hotel, so it is not a bad idea to pay for a room here just to sleep for the night before going downtown.
There was also no lack of dining options across the streets on Alexandra Road if you need a quick bite.
That’s the distance from the street to the Four Points Sheraton Vancouver Airport. It was barely a less than 5-min walk to a long street of restaurants along Alexandra Road, mostly Asian ones.
Korean, Japanese and Chinese restaurants form the majority, and we had so many options to choose from.
Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport, just like the other Four Points hotels in the chain, does not disappoint at all. The room was more than satisfying for the rate that we paid. We would definitely stay here again.Four Points by Sheraton Vancouver Airport
